Samyra Perrymond was first introduced to volleyball at age seven during an all-girls summer camp and has been passionate about the sport ever since. She played throughout middle and high school, joining Tsunami Volleyball at age 14 to sharpen her skills through summer training. She spent four years as an outside hitter and opposite before transitioning to defensive specialist after her sophomore season and competing on varsity. From ages 12 to 18, she stayed active year-round, participating in basketball, track, and flag football in addition to volleyball.

After high school, Samyra chose not to pursue volleyball at the collegiate level, but continues to play recreationally. In 2025, she coached the Fission 14 Local B team and fell in love with the experience. She now returns to the sidelines ready to invest in the next generation of athletes, bringing her athletic versatility, energy, and love for the game to every practice and match.
